Have you advertise on Facebook?

I am trying a 14 day ad for $14 to see how it goes. Did you work well for you or is a dollar a day advertising worth it?

I have! I have my own FaceBook page for my site and I advertise and get my friends to like the page. I'm not sure if it's working yet, though.

Same as @Allenafaith said. I don't think getting members via facebook is as easy as it sounds. The idea of inviting people from a place where they already are to some other place which more or less can serve the same purpose (i.e communication) doesn't really go well for most.
I haven't seen success yet with social networks and forums popularizing one another and I doubt I'll see it.

I have promoted my forum before on Facebook, however I didn't pay to boost my post. I think if I was to do that, it may help bring more traffic to my forum.

I do not advertise on Facebook, but I used the Facebook Connect feature. It allows members to associate their forum and Facebook accounts.

I once advertised my forum on Facebook through posting, but I did not see any improvement. It's even better if I advertise it on other forums or promotion forums for I'd see some members from that forum registering on mine.

I spent a little over $100 on bing ads and gained a load of traffic but barely any members, advertising with search engines definitely doesn't work.

I haven't tried advertising with facebook yet though.

I do not advertise on any social media. I feel the traffic I am desiring to attract most likely will not be found on FaceBook Razz

Facebook and Twitter are very good ways to gain active communities on your forum and on the social media accounts. Making a Facebook page and maybe even an account for your forum is a good way to go about it, I have certainly gained lots of members from it alone.

I did not see my Facebook ad worked well on my forum. However, I did get 10 likes on my page and it reached up to 1200 people in a week. I am going to stick to forum promotion right now. It was not worth the money to advertise yet.

This could work on Facebook accounts with lots of followers. If my memory serves me right, I did not see any improvements in my site (when I was still running one before) with the Facebook Ad I asked my friend to post in his profile.
