Do you think having partnerships or affiliations give a boost on traffic for your forums/ site? If so, to what extent is its effect to your forum? Is it that significant? So far, as I've noticed, partnering with sites that has the same niche as you gives a little boost on traffic. I think this is because there are members who would want to extend their horizons in terms of their knowledge to a certain genre. And whenever they get interested, members would stay for a long period of time. It is up to the webmasters to sustain the interest of the members.

Have you tried this one?

I think this could work somewhat, in regards to having a "partnership" or "affiliation" with a forum of the same niche, seems that it could potentially be a conflict of interest in a way.

However, the one niche I could see this benefiting is if you have a Promotion forum and you affiliate with a few and that's what your forum's niche is, it seems that you'd get a mix of traffic as people are always trying to get their site out there more.

I tried affiliating with several sites, but I have seen no advantage or traffic after any of these partnerships. Sad

I believe partnerships and affiliations really do work if you have enough of them and depends on the activity of both websites. Naturally if one has very little traffic and the other has high traffic it's not a mutual benefiting partnership however... on another note, if you have enough affiliations out there that ultimately means more exposure overall. I think content has a A LOT to do with the success of partnerships and affiliations of both parties. If there are ample resources/information constantly being added for visitors to take advantage of naturally traffic numbers will increase in my opinon.

Yes, I do believe that partnerships/affiliations can increase forum traffic. Both parties benefit from this exchange, as there may be users on either forums who share interests of the other forum.

Before partnering, both parties should confirm that the other forum has high traffic to benefit from the affiliation. Partnership between two forums with low activity wouldn't benefit much as it would between two high-populated forums.

When doing partnerships and affiliations, one end must assure that the other end has a high traffic so there is mutualism between the two. I would love to try this out as soon as I finish.

affiliation definitely helps
but that technique is also a bit of luck
you need to be lucky that there will be people on the other forum interested in your type of forum
lucky enough they even see your affiliate button in the footer area

there may be people clicking on your button but if they not interested in your forum subject/genre then yeah...

It depends. Like Pebbles said, it depends on if people are actually interested in the niche` of your forum to begin with. Also, there has to be good enough content and fun things to do to keep them there as well.

It helps, members will use both forums. Sometimes they forget us and see our affiliation image on another forum, click it and make more posts to see what has changed. Sharing is caring! Smile
