What does it take to become a good forum owner?

We have all brought up the topics that could help forum owners manage their forums, but we have not taken into consideration the webmasters themselves. We know that aside from the team efforts in order to make a forum succeed, there is that portion of the success which comes from the forum owners. So with this, what does it take to become a good forum owner? Do certain successful forum owners share qualities? What do you think are those? Please share your thoughts below.

to become a good forum owner you need the following;

- a lot of patience
- mature personality
- know how to be fair
- social skills
- creative mind
- eye for design
and few other things...

also, you should do it for the right reasons
creating one

recently i literally saw someone basically admit that the reason they keep creating forum is to get some sort of popular rank online or whatever
and i am like..... seriously?
he wondered why nobody was joining his forums.....

I actually agree with a lot of what Pebbles said. I was going to mention several of the things in their list but they beat me to it.

"A lot of patience" struck me very hard. I am impatient as a forum owner. No wonder why I didn't have any successful forums.

Patience is something that you have to have, especially when you're first starting out.

It requires more patience if you're doing it by yourself.
