Have you ever demoted an admin?

Have you ever demoted one of your forum's admins (or co-admins)? What was the reason? Inactivity? Did they break the rules? Something else?

i prefer to be the only admin in the forums i have ....

I've never had to demote an active Admin. The only time I've ever removed an Admin is when they've been inactive.

No, because for people to become Administrators I have to 100% trust them. Hopefully I wont have to demote one in the future.

I've demoted admins when they seem to drop off of the face of the earth and they don't come on after me messaging them multiple times asking them to come back and help me out with posting, fixing themes, etc.

It's been awhile since I have operated my own forum but I'd say that I have indeed demoted an Admin however typically it's because either they aren't really helping the way I need them to or they go inactive.

I've done this myself before, and I even banned them from my forum. I was foolish and let someone become an admin, when I didn't really know her too well. She kept begging to be an admin, I shouldn't have gave in. She ended up changing my theme, and installed some other themes that didn't even fit the niche of my forum, so I demoted and banned her. She complained to Proboards' support staff that she was banned from my forum, thinking they could lift her ban. :V Now I have trust issues on who I want to be part of the staff team on my forums.

No, I use to have only one forum since I use Forumotion and it is owned by me and my brother.Never give rights to randoms, they were just moderators.

What about those that have been around the forum for a long time and have a great reputation? Not everyone is bad you know Rolling Eyes

Most of them are not consistent.Yeah, they are good at their job, but they just leave too soon from their promotion and that's sad.

Yes. But it was our own fault, we were too naive.
The forum started by combined ideas of 4 people and we 4 were admins. One of them one day decided to act on his own and make someone else an admin which ended up getting the whole thing deleted. Had to restore the forum later lol.

I demoted an admin because I realized he lied about his experience and webmaster skills. He had me do all his developing for him so I removed him as admin. If you cannot do simple things like editing a template or installing plugins, you are sadly inexperience and should not tell people you are a professional at it...

As I can remember, I haven't demoted an admin on my forum before. It just turned out that the activity has gone bad, so we both decided to shut the forum down. Obviously, I haven't demoted one, but if I were to name the conditions to demote an admin, it would always be inactivity and unprofessional treatment to members.
