What's your favorite forum software?

So what's your favorite forum software to use? For paid software, I really like Xenforo. I used to like IPB more than Xenforo, but IPB's latest version isn't all that great... For free software, I like MyBB, phpBB and PunBB.

My favorite forum software I would have to say urgh....well I am going to split this in two.

Free software = MyBB

Paid software I am pretty equally split between IPB and Xenforo. Though my personal favorite for years has been IPB.

My favorite free forum software is phpBB. When it comes to paid forum software it's a tie between IPB and Woltlab's Burning Board. Both of these scripts are pretty great.

I prefer MyBB. It's free nd really easy to use. I want to upgrade, but just don't have the money to pay for a license with another software.

With IPB and vBulletin, you don't need to buy a full license. They can host it for you (on their servers) for a monthly price.

If you ever decide to switch back to MyBB (or another script), they give you a full backup of your forum and change your DNS to your new host.

Thank you for sharing WBB! I looked at the site a bit and their project and it seems like a nice piece of forum software that'd I would consider. Especially for the price!

WBB is a pretty nice forum software. I know they used to have a free version that didn't come with all the features of the paid version, but they no longer support that. I was a member on a Sonic forum that used this software, and it was set up nicely. The price is pretty decent too!

At least they didn't go the way of IPB...they went from version 1 being free to version 2 and on being $150 or something like that.

Having a little knowledge of web development and interest in making things from scratch, I find phpBB good enough for me.

I'm a nobody when it comes to web development or such, so once I tried phpbb, I liked it directly since I feel like it is user-friendly.

MyBB is my favorite forum software. It is simple to use, customizable that a novice can edit, does what a forum suppose to function, and it's open source to motivated developers to make the best forum software out there.
