Twitter advertising?

Do any of you here advertise on Twitter?

How has it worked out for you? Would you recommend other people to use this as a good advertising way?

I use twitter and all I have had so far are bots and people constantly following then unfollowing me. It doesn't hurt to give it a shot, but so far, it hasn't helped me much.

Twitter advertising isn't really working for me that much. I might not have enough followers or something. I only get bots sent to my forum when I advertise there. xD

I have not tried that yet, but I think it'll have the same effect with advertising on Facebook.

I don't use Twitter too much because I don't like this social network. I have an account, but I rarely post anything.

It's hard to say how well it's working for us. I do know that he has allowed me to get in touch with site owners I normally wouldn't even know about which is pretty cool as it's opening up our networking contacts.

If you can find followers in your niche who engage with your content then Twitter advertising can be very effective. What isn't effective is having 100K completely random followers who never engage with your content and simply mute your account. If your account looks this spammy, don't expect results.

Thanks for that heads up. I was planning to dedicate 100 tweets to promote my forum, and offer the same service to other forums in exchange of something. I'd probably not do that for the moment.

I would think about a potential follower before taking any action. For example, I was about to follow an account for my favourite forum but found that they spammed links every ten minutes so decided against it. Now i'm an active Twitter user who doesn't follow too many people so I would see their content. The thousands who follow that account are more or less the opposite, seeing as none of their posts were retweeted or even liked. Which follower would you target?

Twitter can help you with advertising, if you do it right. That is the key, is using Twitter to the fullest extent. It's not just about tweeting about your site on Twitter, you have to do other things. Things like, following others who have a similar niche` or retweeting others tweet. There's a host of stuff you can do with Twitter to get attention from others.
